Connecticut Superior Court Drug Sessions

The Connecticut Judicial Branch selected CRPP to evaluate the effectiveness of Superior Court Drug Sessions in New Haven, Bridgeport, and Waterbury for adults and in Hartford for juveniles.

The Drug Sessions, modeled after national Drug Courts, allowed adults and juveniles to reduce or avoid prison time after successful graduation from respective Sessions.

During a year long process, CRPP identified, described, and assessed the effectiveness of court functioning; provided analysis regarding performance measures between each adult drug session and the juvenile session, and; provide recommendations for improvements based on CRPP’s comparative analysis of performance measures and complete descriptions of court operations.

Since 1979, CRPP has provided program evaluation support for clients including Drugs Don’t Work!, South Carolina Department of Health & Environment, Hartford’s Mi Casa Program, Housing for Persons with Aids (HOPWA), Connecticut State System Development Initiative (SSDI), Hate Crimes Prevention Programs, and Northeast Utilities Energy Conservation Programs.
